Bryan attended Vanderbilt University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in philosophy and was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas law school in 1982.
Bryan's practice has included a wide variety of transactional areas, such as tax, real estate, corporate, securities, venture capital, and real estate. In recent years his practice has focused primarily on mergers and acquisitions,
formation and financing of various types of business entities,
and general business matters. His clients range from large international
public companies to small entrepreneurs, and he has experience
in a wide array of industries, from oil field services to health
care to sports and entertainment.
Bryan is married to Claire Zivley Baker and has three children.
He is a dedicated bicycle rider and racer and has won the Texas
state championship race. He has served in a number of leadership
roles in his bicycle racing club and also served as captain of
a successful MS 150 fundraising team. He is active in bicycle advocacy
and was the founding chairman of the Houston Bicycle and Pedestrian
Task Force. He also is involved in youth sports, serving as coach
of numerous soccer and softball teams over the years.
